You can fool Mother Nature, and it's easy to boot! First, give potted spring-flowering bulbs several weeks at low temperature — a chilling period, so they think that it's winter. Then, bring them inside where the temperature is warmer, and the bulbs think that it's spring. So they bloom. Early. Following are some easy bulbs to force into bloom:
- Tulips are easy to coax into early bloom. The earlier they naturally flower in spring, the easier your job is. Conveniently, the very early tulips are lower growing.
